The original car coat was originally made for old-timey automobile jaunts that required maximum coverage, optimal range of movement and some serious warmth. Over the years though, the design has gotten shorter and much slicker, as can be seen by this one that Italian jacket fanatics, Limpermeabile, have made. With those thick slabs of gabardine fabric and that roomy raglan sleeving, this one is fit for restless writhing-about on long public transport stints, but equally stout for adding some old-world class to duties on foot too.
